The past few years have been filled with chaos and commotion, and the predicted graphic design trends of 2022 mirror these trends as well. Today, we will be taking a look at some expected trends, as predicted by graphic design experts.


  1. Brands in Motion


Graphic designers, if you’re not ready already, then get ready now. 2022 will be all about moving graphics, i.e., brands in motion. People want to see moving ads on social media, on public transit, billboards, and more. This is great for brands and graphic designers because there is so much creative control here. Graphic designers can bring brand concepts and visions to life.


2. 1990s


Retro, big prints, and exaggerated colors are back thanks to the reemergence of the 1990s. We’ve seen it in fashion, shows, and now graphic design. 90s inspiration will be a huge trend in 2022. The aim here is to capture a younger generation through mischievous prints and patterns.


3. Maximalism


The aesthetic of excess is back and here to stay for 2022. Get ready for obnoxious, overbearing, and just plain crazy designs. Maximalism will make a resurgence in 2022. Thes big fonts and abstract colors are sure to grab the attention of graphic designers and customers alike.


These are just a few of the design possibilities, but we know one thing for sure: 2022 is the year for design absurdity. Get ready to challenge minimalism with maximalism. 2022 will be the year of graphic design innovation, adaptation, and idiosyncrasy.
